Greenhouse decorated for autumn | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com
The greenhouse is decorated for fall!

I think one of my favorite things about having the greenhouse is that I can decorate it for the seasons.

This fall is the first real season I could decorate the greenhouse.  I tried to keep it super simple by using items I already had.

I got the planters on super clearance from Wal-Mart in late summer & I love them.  I was so happy that I didn't have to wait until next year to use them.

The mums were also a great price from Wegmans.  I usually have a difficult time keeping mums alive but they are thriving this year.  At the end of the season I'm going to try to plant the mums in the ground to see if they come back next year.  We're not in the correct planting zone to make mums perennials but I'm going to try!

A Simple Fall Porch | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com

Check out my super simple last minute fall front porch using yard sale finds!

Happy Halloween!

I know I’m super late with the whole ‘fall porch’ trend, but better late than never, right?!

Honestly, I didn’t even know that I was going to do a fall porch until yesterday anyway!

The thing about our porch is that it isn’t a true front porch.  Our steps don’t run straight down like a normal porch.  Actually, lets back up a little bit…before we bought our house, our front porch didn’t even have a set of steps.  It was just doors that led to a porch.  No steps at all.  The entrance to the house was the side door with a tiny porch.  One of the first things we did when we purchased our house was to add steps to the front.  The easiest way to accomplish this was to just take off the railing & add steps to the side.

I mentioned yesterday that I usually put ‘Dollar Tree randomness’ on my two front doors because it’s incredibly difficult to find two matching wreaths when thrift shopping (& that’s the only way I buy wreaths!), so I thought I would show you the current randomness going on!

Ceramic pumpkin with mums inside | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com
Styling a ceramic pumpkin found at the thrift store!

Check out this ceramic pumpkin I got at a thrift store!

When I saw this on display, I knew I had to have it!  There was another customer also looking at the display, so I wanted to get it ASAP.  The problem was, I was carrying a large piece of furniture (to be revealed in a future post!) & I couldn’t grab it!  My husband was already at the register, so I’m trying to quietly motion for him to come over & pick it up for me.  Of course, he’s not understanding my dire situation, but I finally get him to come over & get it!

The Tale of Two Milk Cans

So, I stumbled upon these vintage milk cans at a yard sale this summer. They came pre-painted by their previous owner, and honestly, I've been vibing with their rustic charm. I've been toying with the idea of giving them a fresh coat of paint—white, black, silver? The possibilities are endless, and indecision is real, my friends. But hey, I've got all winter to dream up their next look!

"Sometimes, the beauty lies in the imperfections."

From Summer Blooms to Fall Mums

When I first brought these beauties home, I filled one with summer flowers. The other? Well, it patiently awaited its turn. As summer bid adieu, my blooms started to look a bit sad. Enter mums—the quintessential fall flower. And guess what? The store pots fit perfectly into the milk cans. It's like the universe aligned just to make my decor dreams come true!
