Fall Porch 2018

A Simple Fall Porch | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com

Check out my super simple last minute fall front porch using yard sale finds!

Happy Halloween!

I know I’m super late with the whole ‘fall porch’ trend, but better late than never, right?!

Honestly, I didn’t even know that I was going to do a fall porch until yesterday anyway!

The thing about our porch is that it isn’t a true front porch.  Our steps don’t run straight down like a normal porch.  Actually, lets back up a little bit…before we bought our house, our front porch didn’t even have a set of steps.  It was just doors that led to a porch.  No steps at all.  The entrance to the house was the side door with a tiny porch.  One of the first things we did when we purchased our house was to add steps to the front.  The easiest way to accomplish this was to just take off the railing & add steps to the side.

Since the steps are on the side of the porch, it isn’t really visible from the road, especially if we park our cars by it, so I never really decorate our porch & steps.  We also put our huge porch swing out there every summer, so decorating space is at a minimum anyway.  We decorate around our yard instead.

Well, we packed our porch swing away last weekend, which left an empty space on our porch.  Now, since I can’t leave well enough alone, I decided yesterday was the perfect time to create a little fall porch.  I just bought this red bench & table from a yard sale a couple weekends ago & was struggling on where to put it.  It was just going to end up being packed away with the rest of the summer outdoor furniture for next year…

Until I decided to use it on the porch!  Because the porch is super last minute, I didn’t want to go over the top with it, so I just placed a few pumpkins around the bench & called it good enough for now.  I also took my big wooden pumpkin (that I got at another yard sale over the summer) & put it on the little table for a decorative touch.  All of my mums are pretty much dead right now, so I didn’t put them out there, either.  It’s nothing fancy…it’s just enough fall.  If fall wasn’t already halfway over, I might have went a little extra, but I’m content with it for this year!
