Upcycled dining bench using legs from an old end table | On The Creek Blog
An upcycled dining bench with legs from an old end table!

We finally made another dining bench!

The first dining bench we made last year was awesome, but it was a little narrow for sitting.  We planned on making another dining bench, but life got in the way.

Well, the time finally came to build another bench!

This dining bench is upcycled from an old end table we picked up at a garage sale last year.  The legs were cool, but the top of the end table was a little rough.  Instead of refinishing it, we just decided to use the legs to create a dining bench!

A church pew gets a dark & chippy makeover | On The Creek Blog
A super cute church pew gets a dark & chippy makeover!

I can’t believe I’ve never shared my church pew here on the blog!  I got this pew at the Salvation Army Family Store last year.  I love it because it’s super small & cute!  It’s also really light so it’s easy to move around!

I actually had this pew in my entryway for a little while when I first got it.  Then we started making bed benches & they took its place, but it’s back…for now!

Seed Starting // tomato varieties planted | On The Creek Blog
I shared our seed starting adventures yesterday & now I want to show you what seeds we planted!

Because we used what we already had, we got quite the variety of tomato seeds:  beefsteak, snaking, paste & storage.

I think this is the perfect introduction to planting tomatoes from seeds because of the variety!

I can also see what kinds I like!

Here’s a close up of the varieties:

Seed starting for the garden | On The Creek Blog
Over the weekend, we started some seeds for our 2020 garden!

Seed starting is something I didn’t think was going to happen this year.

While I love having a garden, I tend to go about it in a more simple way.

We usually buy plants at a local greenhouse at the end of May.  It has worked out well for us in the past.  It’s easy to choose the best plants & put them in the garden.  Seed starting is a different thing…

A thing I guess I’m going to be learning about!

Ace of Hearts Anthurium // 1 year update | On The Creek Blog
You all seemed to really enjoy my Ace of Hearts Anthurium when I posted it last year, so I thought I’d give you a little update!

I’ve had my Anthurium for just over a year now.  So far, it’s still doing great!  It’s constantly producing flowers.

Because I still haven’t transplanted it into a larger flower pot, it has been growing upward instead of outward!

The Ace of Hearts Anthurium is my first houseplant, & overall, I think it’s doing quite well!

Here’s the very first bed frame bench we made!

We actually made this bed frame bench several months ago, but I’m just getting around to sharing it today!  It’s actually undergoing another makeover right now, so I wanted to share the first version of it!

Last summer, I became obsessed with bed frame benches.  I thought they were really cool & wanted one of my own.

I finally found a complete headboard/footboard set that I liked & started building a bed frame bench!
