Christmas in July

Some free decorations sparked an interest in Christmas in July for me!

I’m not a big believer in Christmas in July…

But Christmas in July sure believed in me this year!

It all started last week when my husband called me on his way home from work.  He had passed by a house with some Christmas decorations that appeared to be free.  He said it was most likely junk lights & other random stuff.  I told him he should check it out & if it was free that he should take some of it.  My parents are having a dumpster delivered later in August, so if they don’t work out, we could easily throw everything away.

He turned around & ended up loading the entire lot into the back of his car!

We started untangling some things & plugging them in to see if they worked.  Surprisingly, almost everything lit up!  We ended up with a sleigh & I believe 4 reindeer!  There’s also an angel & a smaller reindeer!  Even more, there’s a ton of light up candy canes (I forgot to take a pic of them!)!  For such a big mess, all the pieces & parts were there!

The coolest thing was this horse & carriage!  We ended up giving it to my mom to put in her yard!  She has the miniature ponies & loves everything horse decor!

I actually texted her to see if she wanted it, but she wasn’t getting back to me fast enough.  We ended up loading it up, taking it over there & setting it up without her knowing!  I then messaged her a picture of it in her yard to see if she wanted it!

We were super lucky that we stumbled upon such awesome free finds!

I was tempted to leave the display out in our yard for a Christmas in July situation!  Instead, we dismantled everything & put it in our basement!  I can’t wait to set it up for actual Christmas, though!  I was already asking my husband if we could put it on our roof!  We don’t normally go all out for Christmas in terms of decor, but I have a feeling we just might this year…

Especially if we keep finding free Christmas stuff!
