A tin roof for the greenhouse!
The greenhouse finally has a roof!
We decided on a tin roof for the greenhouse & I just love it!
There were a few reasons we went with a tin roof for the greenhouse:
- I wanted a plain silver roof. Traditional metal roofing comes in a variety of colors but tin only comes in one color.
- Tin roofing was cheaper than metal or shingles. For this project, the metal cost under $300 for everything, including the screws.
- We didn't have to travel to get supplies. We are lucky to have a local metal roofing manufacturer about a mile from our house so we didn't need to haul supplies a long distance.
While we normally do everything ourselves, we hired out for this roof project.
We don't have a lot of experience with metal roofing & wanted to make sure it was done correctly. My husband also doesn't like heights & this roof is surprisingly high.
The person we hired came out one day & measured everything. We then ordered the supplies (including the plastic panels) & picked them up so everything was ready for the roof install.
We hired someone we knew & my husband was able to help him so the roof was complete in just a couple hours.
Your roof stands between the interior of your home and everything in it, including your loved ones, and the exterior world. If it’s in good shape, your roof serves as a barrier against the elements. If your roof is in poor shape, your home can get water leaks, develop mold in the roof deck and structure, and experience other issues. Even a small leak in the roof can cause larger problems across your home. Extensions New Mills
