Garden | August 2019

Green peppers growing in the garden | On The Creek Blog

Take a look at my garden in August 2019!

As I looked back on my garden at this time last year, I can see quite the difference!  I was so disappointed in the garden last year & I hate to say it, but it looks way better than the garden this year!

The difference in last year's garden is that it looked beautiful at this time, but it lacked the actual veggies. The veggies it did produce were super small. This year, there has been a decent yield. Not as much as I was hoping for, but enough to make a few things.

Surprisingly, I'm not freaking out over the garden as much as in the past. I've been gardening for 3 summers now & if I've learned anything, it's to not overreact so much to what the garden is doing. I can only control so much & that's it.

The reason the garden is so light on tomatoes right now is because we already picked one batch. These are what is left over & will hopefully be picked soon.

When I was taking pictures, I noticed a regrowth of cucumbers! The cucumbers this year have tasted amazing & I'm sure these ones will too!

I didn't even bother taking pictures of the corn we grew. It was to be expected, but it didn't do so well!

In better news, there are a couple pumpkins growing! This one is going to be huge!
I'm thinking the garden is about to come to a close. It has been a lot colder at night than it was last year & I think the garden is feeling it. But, I'm going to hang on as long as the garden wants to produce!

Now I just have to do something with all the tomatoes I have in my refrigerator!
