Here’s a recap of what I posted on the blog in June!
I didn’t write as many posts last month, but it ended up being one of my best months ever for visits to my blog! I’m working on a ton of promoting techniques to really get the most out of my posts. I’m also working to make my posts better. Both things take a lot of time, thus the lighter posting.
So…now on to the posts!
Here’s a recap of what happened on the blog in May!
Once again, I didn’t watch hardly any of my picks for the month! I’m still loving my May picks, though & one of these days I’m going to binge them! I did watch a ton of The Blacklist this month & binged the entire season of Girlboss.

Mother’s Day was in May & I shared two posts. One was handmade gifts & the other was gifts under $25.
I loved trying to find awesome gifts under $25. I also thought the handmade gifts were really neat!
The ‘Link Love’ posts are still one of my favorites to put together! There are so many blogs out there putting out such great content! There were actually so many great links this month that didn’t make it into the posts! I’ve been putting some of the ‘extras’ over on my Twitter.
Speaking of Twitter & social media…I’ve been posting a ton of things on social media lately. Twitter is such an easy place to share links & quirky tidbits from my life.
I did a little photoshoot with my parents’ pony, Sergio! He’s the cutest little thing. My parents’ other pony just had her baby on Wednesday, so expect another baby photoshoot soon!
I took so many pictures this spring that they had to be divided into 2 posts! I love going out & randomly photographing things. It’s so fun to bring them together in posts like this.
Summer Potluck Ideas // 10 Drinks To Make This Summer
I did a couple of recipe roundup posts this month. They were both inspired by my Pinterest Boards. I’m currently working on making some of the drinks from my ‘10 Drinks To Make This Summer’ post to share on the blog soon!
The fact that I only made one blog recipe this month was sort of disappointing. I really love my ‘Best Thing I Made This Week’ series & can’t wait to bring it back!
My last post of the month was a tutorial on raised garden beds. I really enjoyed writing this. After we remodeled our entire house, I stopped doing DIY projects for a while but this easy project reignited my passion for DIY!

“The Best Thing I Made This Week” series continued this month with 4 great recipes! These were all so good that it would be difficult to choose a favorite! I’ll be definitely making these again in the future!

I'm still really loving these roundup posts! I've built up the number of blogs I read lately & look forward to reading them every morning. There are so many great blogs/ideas out there and my “link love” posts are just the tip of the iceberg on what’s out there.
I did a quick Easter roundup based off my Pinterest board. I collect so many ideas via Pinterest & I always forget to share them, so it was nice to write this roundup!
To welcome the spring/summer season, I shared my recipe for Classic Lemonade. It’s going to be a staple in our house all summer long!
Why You Shouldn’t Link Facebook + Twitter Posts Together
On the blog front, I changed my layout, which is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. It’s been almost two weeks since the change & I’m still loving this new look! That says a lot because I get bored with stuff easily! I also posted about my experience with linking my Facebook account to Twitter. To be honest, I wasn’t going to post about it because 99% of my audience wouldn’t find it useful. I think it has some good information for bloggers who might stumble upon it, so I decided to post it.
I didn’t do a lot of photography this month, but I did manage to capture some shots of the snapping turtles my husband found in our yard. With the weather warming up, I can’t wait to get out with my camera & take some pictures of nature!

March was the first month of 2017 where I actually blogged on a regular basis. I even surprised myself with that one! After being in a creative funk for a few months, it was nice to get back to writing again. Here’s what was on the blog in March:
Netflix Picks | March 2017
At the beginning of the month, I shared my picks for Netflix shows/movies for March. Unfortunately, I didn’t watch anything on Netflix this month, so they’ll have to go on my April list! Also, do you notice in the graphic above that the line at the end of the ‘s’ in ‘picks’ is a different color? Well, I only noticed that a few days ago! Such professionalism here!
The Best Thing I Made This Week // 01 // 02 // 03 // 04
I started a new series this month: ‘The Best Thing I Made This Week’. I ended up doing 4 of these posts this month. I love doing these and the most difficult part is trying to decide on what pictures to put in! I’ve been loving my food photography lately and am getting better at it everyday. I’m by no means a professional, but it’s something I’m excited to learn.
Because I couldn’t let these sit on my computer, here are a few pictures that didn’t make the cut on my posts. The reason a lot of my pictures don’t make the cut is because they end up all looking the same. I take a ton of "just in case" pictures because I usually eat/drink what I photograph immediately, so it leaves my pictures looking similar.

My absolute favorite thing to do on the blog right now is the ‘Link Love’ posts. I love finding new blogs to and reading what other people write. I read so many blog posts this month! Reading other blogs helps with my creative flow.
Also, I mentioned in one of my link loves that I signed up for some freebies. So far, the only thing to come in was the Jiffy Recipe Book. I’m going to be blogging at least one recipe from it in April!
My workout routine
Workout Jams // 01 // 02
I started the month out strong with my workouts, but it faded quickly. With the weather warming up, I want to take my workouts outside with walking. I do miss the energy after working out, so I should get back to doing some sort of workout ASAP!
This was a last minute St. Patty’s day idea that I had a lot of fun photographing! So much fun that there were 5 pictures that didn’t make the cut, but I’m going to share them now because they’re so colorful!
I didn’t put the last one on my blog originally because you can really see how much I suck with the paint pen!
The waterfall we visited was so cool! I can’t wait to get back! It will also give me a chance to practice my outdoor photography.
The Squirrels of Niagara // Niagara Falls
We took a super short trip to Niagara Falls, NY and it’s another place I can’t wait to get back to! I even randomly came across the story of Nik Wallenda on TV the other night, which fueled my desire to get back there even more!
Aaand we’re done! I loved recapping this month with you and showing some of the stuff going on behind the blog! I’ll be sure to take more photos next month for an even more behind the scenes experience!
