5 ways to display kitchen cabinet wreaths | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com

5 different ways to display Christmas wreaths in the kitchen!

After my post last week about Kitchen Christmas decor, I started thinking about all of the ways to display Christmas wreaths in the kitchen.  I had a few of these Dollar Tree wreaths, so I decided to do a little photo shoot with them!  I came up with 5 different ways to display the wreaths & I’ll be highlighting them below…so let’s get started!

new kitchen cabinet door hinges | on the creek blog // www.onthecreekblog.com

After years of living with old hinges, I finally replaced them to match my door pulls!

When we completely overhauled our kitchen a couple years ago, the door hinges were the last thing on my mind.

I mean, the doors already came with hinges & replacement hinges are so expensive! We called it good enough & that was that…

Until it started bothering me.

You know those things that once you see them, they can’t be unseen?! Well, one day, the hinges did that to me. The old & busted hinges were all I could see every time I entered the kitchen! I’d walk in there & think, ‘I really should change these hinges out!’ all the time!

Finally, I checked out their selection of hinges when we were at Home Depot for unrelated reasons. We bought our door pulls there, so I figured they would have matching hinges. I was so excited that their hinges matched the door pulls perfectly! I immediately picked up the value packs! They’re still expensive, but it wouldn’t bother me anymore!

Easy baking storage using large mason jars!

Since we’re getting into the Christmas baking season, I decided to switch up my spice shelf!

My baking supplies are usually in the cabinet above my shelf but since I like to bake cookies during Christmastime so I wanted my baking supplies easy to get to.

A Simple Fall Porch | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com

Check out my super simple last minute fall front porch using yard sale finds!

Happy Halloween!

I know I’m super late with the whole ‘fall porch’ trend, but better late than never, right?!

Honestly, I didn’t even know that I was going to do a fall porch until yesterday anyway!

The thing about our porch is that it isn’t a true front porch.  Our steps don’t run straight down like a normal porch.  Actually, lets back up a little bit…before we bought our house, our front porch didn’t even have a set of steps.  It was just doors that led to a porch.  No steps at all.  The entrance to the house was the side door with a tiny porch.  One of the first things we did when we purchased our house was to add steps to the front.  The easiest way to accomplish this was to just take off the railing & add steps to the side.

Download a free ‘Resting Witch Face’ printable & check out the canvas I made!

With Halloween being only 2 days away, I thought I’d sneak in one more Halloween free printable!

I’m having so much fun creating this mixed media canvas art & I love how this one turned out!  As you can tell, I’m keeping it simple for now.  I’m not comfortable enough to tackle more advanced projects just yet!

This was the last canvas I created using the materials I already had on hand.  I created the black canvas background some time ago, so all I had to do was finish it & add my letters.  I found a gold paint pen for the letters & finished it off with a coat of Mod Podge.

So…here’s the thing:

I’m not an artist.

As much as I want to, I’ll never be someone who creates magnificent art.  I try to be proficient at a lot of different art types, but I don’t think I’ll ever be super great at anything. I love to experiment with different art, though!

Here’s something weird about me:  I like to do something to the max for a while & then completely abandon it.  Like I’ll eat the same meal for days & then wait months & months before I’ll have it again.

I mentioned yesterday that I usually put ‘Dollar Tree randomness’ on my two front doors because it’s incredibly difficult to find two matching wreaths when thrift shopping (& that’s the only way I buy wreaths!), so I thought I would show you the current randomness going on!

As you know (because I’ve probably said it a million times!), I follow a ton of blogs.  I love the inspiration & seeing the creativity of all the fantastic bloggers!  But…following a lot of bloggers can be overwhelming.  Sometimes I get extremely behind when keeping up with everyone on the internet!  But yesterday, I decided to finally go through all of my favorite blogs & read all of the things, so here’s a huge list of the links I loved!  There’s so much good stuff!

Styling a ceramic pumpkin found at the thrift store!

Check out this ceramic pumpkin I got at a thrift store!

When I saw this on display, I knew I had to have it!  There was another customer also looking at the display, so I wanted to get it ASAP.  The problem was, I was carrying a large piece of furniture (to be revealed in a future post!) & I couldn’t grab it!  My husband was already at the register, so I’m trying to quietly motion for him to come over & pick it up for me.  Of course, he’s not understanding my dire situation, but I finally get him to come over & get it!

When we went to the arboretum recently, I was so inspired by all the flowers & trees!

Since we’re in the middle of an entire regrading project in our yard, we can’t plant anything & I’m incredibly impatient about it!  I want to plant everything!  (I did sneak in a lilac bush earlier this year!)

fall maple leaf

I’ve gone back & forth on whether or not to write a ‘Fall TV’ post this year.

It didn’t seem like there were very many good fall TV show premieres this year!  I was kind of disappointed, until I realized something:

TV has completely changed.

Hey, Besties!

Ready for the simplest fall decor hack ever? Trust me, this one's a game-changer.

The Tale of Two Milk Cans

So, I stumbled upon these vintage milk cans at a yard sale this summer. They came pre-painted by their previous owner, and honestly, I've been vibing with their rustic charm. I've been toying with the idea of giving them a fresh coat of paint—white, black, silver? The possibilities are endless, and indecision is real, my friends. But hey, I've got all winter to dream up their next look!

"Sometimes, the beauty lies in the imperfections."

From Summer Blooms to Fall Mums

When I first brought these beauties home, I filled one with summer flowers. The other? Well, it patiently awaited its turn. As summer bid adieu, my blooms started to look a bit sad. Enter mums—the quintessential fall flower. And guess what? The store pots fit perfectly into the milk cans. It's like the universe aligned just to make my decor dreams come true!

Effortless Chic

There's something magical about decor that's both effortless and stunning. I'll definitely be saving these pots for future plant ventures. It's the little things that make a house a home, right?

Sending you all the creative vibes for your next decor adventure! 🌿✨

My husband & I went to an arboretum last week.  It was my first time ever going!  I thought I would hate it, but I really loved it!  We did a ton of walking, but it actually wasn’t too bad because we took our time.  We ended up spending 4+ hours there & I want to go back to explore more!

Home decor trends

It seems that no matter where you go, you’ll find the same pieces of home decor.  I’m not usually one to follow trends, but the same ones over & over are difficult to miss!

After going to a few home decor stores over the weekend, I decided to gather together the things I’ve been seeing a lot of lately!
