Because of my success with my Thanksgiving drink recipe series, I thought I was confident enough to start a Christmas cookie recipe series.
I spent some time after Thanksgiving dinner gathering my mom’s best Christmas cookie recipes. The ones she’s been making without fail for longer than I’ve been alive. I figured it wouldn’t be so difficult to whip up some Christmas cookies on my own and share here on my blog.
I was wrong.
I don’t know how I did it, but I took a recipe that was supposed to yield 3 dozen cookies and managed to make only about 18. Also, if you notice, my snowballs are all various sizes because I don’t know what I’m doing. But! The recipe itself is a good one and I thought they photographed well so I decided to include them here. Also, if I can make these cookies with very minimal problems, I think anyone can! If I made this recipe again, I would make the snowballs super small to make them one bite cookies because I hate powdered sugar everywhere. I would also probably get 36 cookies that way too?!
This is why my mom makes the Christmas cookies.
I can see now that I still need her expertise so my kitchen doesn’t burn down.
Aaand this is a good time to mention that I’m making Christmas dinner. Should I order a new oven for December 26 delivery?

- 2 sticks Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup, divided Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla
- 2 cups, sifted Flour
- 1 cup Chopped Walnuts

Powdered sugar everywhere!
