Small Space Virtual Learning
Our virtual learning set up in a small space!
After a good start, our school ended up on virtual learning starting this week.
Because our house has a serious lack of space, I was originally going to have our foster kiddo just do his work at the kitchen table. I didn't think our house had the storage for a dedicated space...until I made one!
Because of our virtual learning situation, our kiddo didn't bring home a lot of books. He does have a few folders full of paperwork he needs, though. I wanted a space to store everything, including his school laptop.
I was thinking of maybe making an area in his room to store his school things & then just having him work at the kitchen table, but then I thought about our coat nook.
We have a super small coat nook behind our basement stairs. This area is really super tiny. It's just big enough to store a few coats but does go into the wall just a little bit. I put our little school desk in the nook a while ago & decided to see if I could expand on the space to make a little virtual learning area.
It ended up working out nicely!
I found these little 'Learning is sweet' decorations at Dollar Tree & put them up on the wall behind the desk. I thought they were super cute!I had some battery powered lights already on hand, so I put them up on the ceiling of the coat nook. It's an area in our house that doesn't get a ton of light, so I wanted to add a little more lighting.
Directly behind the desk is our rustic coat rack. To add a little more storage, I hung up our kiddo's backpack, as well as a couple other backpacks we already had. We already put a few of his activity books in one of the backpacks & got them out of his room!I think this little virtual learning space will work out great!
