Home Decor Trends | Fall 2018

It seems that no matter where you go, you’ll find the same pieces of home decor.  I’m not usually one to follow trends, but the same ones over & over are difficult to miss!

After going to a few home decor stores over the weekend, I decided to gather together the things I’ve been seeing a lot of lately!

“Gather” Sign
”Gather” signs are super hot right now.  Every single place I’ve been to that has home decor has some interpretation of the “gather” sign.  I’ve seen tons of them in the cursive font, but I’ve also seen them in a more bold font as well.  Even though they’re completely overdone, I still love them!  I might even make or buy one of my own!

Old Signs
Old signs in general are really popular at the moment.  I love the old metal signs!   They would be super easy to recreate using a board & wood letters too!  I’m more of a fan of the simple one word signs, but the phrases are nice too!

Monograms
You’ll see a monogrammed picture below, but monograms are really popular!

Old Windows
Old windows are so great.  I’ve seen them styled a lot of different ways & they all look amazing.  I’m always skeptical about buying legit old windows because of lead paint, but I still love them!  My favorite styling is with the wreath in front!

Mirrors
Another way to spruce up an old window is to make a mirror out of it!  Old mirrors in general are really popular right now & I can see why…they can make a space feel larger!

Scales
Old scales are really cool right now.  I love the black ones above, but I also love the antique rusty ones too!  They’re such a cute little statement piece!

Clocks
Huge clocks are having their moment!  I’m especially fond of the ones like in the picture above that have a simple board & raised numbers.  They’re such a statement piece & they tell the time!

Painted Furniture
Painted furniture is super popular right now.  How cute is the table above?!  White & gray colors are really popular.  They bring a neutral feel to a space.  I really like the pieces like the one above that have a wooden top & the rest painted.  I also like funky hardware, but simple hardware is great too!

Lanterns
Lanterns are where it’s at!  I love the new wooden looking lanterns, but old lanterns are great too!  They can be styled with candles or even flowers!

Picture Frames
My husband thought I was crazy when I bought an old picture frame like the one above at a yard sale, but they’re really on trend right now!  They can be styled so many ways as you’ll see in the pictures below!  They would also make cute chalk boards!

Wire baskets
I love wire baskets!  They can be styled or just simply just hold stuff!

Corbels
I’ve been seeing corbels everywhere!  They look so cute as a shelf!  I also like them around inside door frames or at the bottom of kitchen cabinets!
