Building a greenhouse porch!
We added a porch to the greenhouse over the weekend!
Since the greenhouse is a little higher out of the ground, we knew we were going to have to at least add a step to get in. I suggested a porch that went along the entire front of the greenhouse. After going through our inventory, we luckily had enough lumber left over to build a full porch.
It's just a small porch but I was surprised how quickly it all came together.
To save money on the greenhouse project, we built the entire greenhouse on railroad ties we already had. We continued with a railroad tie for the porch so everything would be the same level.
Then we built the porch. Because we were using left over lumber, we only had 3 boards we could use for the porch. We built our porch frame to reflect that size.
Here's a peek at the porch frame. Because the porch is so small, we were able to construct the frame & move it on to the railroad tie/greenhouse later. It made constructing it very easy!
We then moved our porch frame onto the railroad tie & the greenhouse. We made sure everything was level & then attached the porch to the greenhouse. Lastly, we added our top boards & the porch was complete!
I think the little porch is so cute & really gives the greenhouse something extra!
