Fall TV 2021 | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com
The shows I'm looking forward to watching this fall!

Fall TV season is one of my favorite times of the year.

With so many streaming services out there, I honestly thought Fall TV might be a thing of the past.  The streaming services are able to premiere shows whenever they want which is great, but there's something about the fall premieres that I love.

I actually skipped my annual fall TV blog post last year because there wasn't a lot of shows being offered at the same time.

We have been spending a lot of time at home recently & I've definitely been watching more TV than usual.  I started noticing a lot of new shows coming out during the fall season this year...

So I'm bringing my Fall TV post back!

3 TV shows we watched lately | On The Creek Blog // www.onthecreekblog.com
3 shows we watched lately!

With my husband recuperating from surgery, we have been watching a lot of TV lately.

James usually likes to watch movies & I'm more into shows.  With James being home for a longer time, I finally convinced him to watch some shows with me & it has been so great.

We have several streaming services so we have so many shows to choose from.  For these shows, we kind of just randomly picked them & they turned out to be good.

Here is what we have been watching:

fall maple leaf

I’ve gone back & forth on whether or not to write a ‘Fall TV’ post this year.

It didn’t seem like there were very many good fall TV show premieres this year!  I was kind of disappointed, until I realized something:

TV has completely changed.

Fall TV | Premieres & Returning Shows
It’s that magical time once again:  Fall TV premiere season!

It seems like I get more excited every year about all the new shows coming on TV!  I love getting lost in a good show & autumn is when a ton of new shows come out.  I even made a little cheat sheet with the premiere dates on it!

Fall TV | Premiere Dates Cheat Sheet
It looks like the networks are trying to space things out this year.  There are a lot of midseason premieres this time, which is a relief for my DVR because it’s currently filled to the max with about a million episodes of Mysteries At The Museum!  It’s one of the only shows I can fall asleep to & I almost never finish an episode so they just hang out on my DVR until I either finish watching or delete them!  I’ll have to get them under control before the premieres start!

When it comes to fall TV, I don’t discriminate.  I’ll record everything & then weed out what I don’t want to watch.  This year I’m not overly excited to watch any particular new show.  I’m just looking forward to watching them all & picking favorites afterwards!

What I’m really looking forward to are some of my favorites coming back from summer break. I can’t wait until Scandal, The Blacklist & Quantico come back!

What shows are you looking forward to?

February Binge Watch Picks

Here are the shows I binge watched in February!

1.  Santa Clarita Diet
This show was a quick binge watch.  There’s only 10 episodes and the episodes were super short (about 30 minutes each), so I was able to watch over a couple days.  My husband even watched this show with me and he hates watching shows!

2.  Frequency
As I’ve said before, I wanted to watch this show since it first came out and was finally able to binge watch it this month.  Even though it wasn’t what I expected, it kept me interested.

3.  Schitt’s Creek
This is another show with short episodes so I’m able to watch whenever I have a few minutes.  I started watching this knowing nothing really about the show and I love it so far!

4.  Shameless
Our neighbors recommended this one and I’m just starting it but I love it so far.  It’s a longer show, but I’m slowly working my way through it.

5.  No Tomorrow
This is another show that I randomly picked out and I really like it so far.

netflix picks | feb 2017

Aaand just like that, it's February!

February is one of my favorite months.  I love Valentine's Day and it's my birthday month so there's a lot to look forward to!

Another thing I look forward to every month is the list of new arrivals on Netflix!  Even though I watch a lot of TV year round, winter is my favorite time to cozy up on the couch and get into a good movie or show.

Here are 2 shows & 2 movies I'm looking forward to watching on Netflix in February:

Shows

Frequency: Season 1 | Feb 2
I've been attempting to watch this show all season long but never got around to it.  Now I can binge it in its entirety!

Santa Clarita Diet | Feb 3
I saw the preview for this show the other day and I'm hooked already!  I hope it's as good as the preview!

Movies

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe | Feb 1
I watched this movie a long time ago and am looking forward to watching it again.

Finding Dory | Feb 1
This makes me so excited!  I never got around to seeing Finding Dory, so I'm beyond thrilled to that it's on Netflix!  As soon as I'm done writing this post, I'm going to watch it!

Here’s a list of all of the new stuff coming to Netflix in February!

What are you looking most forward to watching?

shows to binge watch

Here are some of my favorite shows that are worth a binge watch in January!  Most of these shows can be streamed in their entirety.  Click on the links to start watching!

1. Good Behavior This show just showed up on my DVR on day so I really wanted to hate it.  I watched the first episode and was immediately hooked, though!  It's just that good.  It follows the story of Letty Raines, a fresh out of prison con artist in her struggles to put her life back together while still committing crimes.  It's gritty and outrageous and I absolutely love it.  I started this show when the first episode aired and couldn't wait to watch another episode each week.  Season 1 just ended last week so it's ready to binge in its entirety.

2. This Is Us My husband really doesn't like watching shows, but we ended up starting this together about a month ago and we couldn't stop watching.  I'm usually not a huge family drama fan, but this show is so awesome.  The way the characters and the story is put together is absolutely perfect.  Without giving too much away, it's about the struggles and life experiences of a family.

3. The OA I originally heard about this show in a reddit forum and decided to check it out.  Wow, is it intense!  So intense that I actually had to switch to something else before I finished it.  It's about the fictional Prairie Johnson, a woman who went missing for seven years without a trace and returns suddenly.  There are so many layers to this show and it kept me guessing where it was going to go next.  I'm still guessing!

4. Travelers
I just binged this last week and started watching it because it was recommended from watching The OA.  It’s about a group of people in the future who travel back to the 21st century by taking over the body of a person who died. They’re supposed to be on missions to save the world but things go south pretty quickly.  Just like The OA, there's a lot of layers, but it wasn't quite as intense.

5. Channel Zero: Candle Cove
I remember reading the Candle Cove Creepypasta and was so excited when I heard a show was being made from it.  This show takes scary to the next level!  I’m not one for scary stuff, but the six episodes kept me intrigued and on edge!  It was interesting to see where the show took the basic Candle Cove story.

Fall TV premieres!

I honestly couldn’t care less about the weather as long as it stays out of the way of my TV viewing.
