I figured it was about time to share the before photos of our house now that we're almost done with renovations!
I was actually just going to do a massive photo post with all of the before pictures, but as I was editing them, I realized I had a TON of before pictures, so I'm breaking them down by rooms. First up is the kitchen.
The cabinets were handmade to fit the kitchen. They were constructed using tongue and groove boards. They were really cool looking, but also in really rough shape. They were stained up really bad and the inside of them smelled terrible.
There wasn't a ton of cabinet space for being such a large kitchen. At my other house, I had a wraparound kitchen similar to this and I HATED it. So many things would get lost in the wraparound cabinets. The cabin wraparound was fairly small, though, but it blocked off the kitchen from the rest of the house.
Here's the homemade lazy susan!
There wasn't a lot of counter space, either. There was a stove top covering the end of the counter. Again, pretty cool, but how was I supposed to bake pizza rolls?!
I'm guessing that hole above the stove was where a microwave went.
On the back wall of the kitchen, there was a door leading to the bathroom.
On the opposite side from the cabinets, there was a wall and the back side of the basement staircase.
The brick wall! I loved this wall! It was actual flat brick pieces mortared to the wall.
And that's the kitchen tour! I can't wait to show you the finished product! We're still waiting on some finishing touches. The appliances are being delivered today, actually. I can't wait to use them!
