Old board game turned into cute & rustic wall art!

An old board game turned into super cute wall art!

Here’s another thrifty find!

I picked up this old board game several years ago at a former neighbor’s yard sale.  He was moving away & was selling pretty much everything.  He had lived in his house for as long as I could remember & he had a lot of things for sale.

The neighbor was holding his sale at the same time as our annual family yard sale but we still stopped by!  It has become an informal tradition over the past few years to stop at other yard sales while we’re having our sale!

It all started a few years ago when my grandmother’s car broke down & she needed a ride home.  We were having our yard sale but my husband & I went to go pick her up while my parents worked the sale.  On our way back from getting her, we stopped at a moving sale.  We ended up buying this huuuuge roll of Christmas wrapping paper for $5!  I mean, this thing has provided Christmas wrapping for at least 5 years & it’s still a huge roll!  I’ll have to dig it out of the basement & do a post on it!  It is pretty much the best thing ever!

Anyway, back to the board game!  It’s a little rough looking from what I’m guessing are years of play, but it totally adds to the rustic vibes!  I love that it’s colorful, yet fits into our decor!  I put it on the wall in the back of our living room when we first moved in & it has stayed there ever since!  We have very few drywalled walls in our house (it’s a log home!), so I love the contrast of the white paint against the picture!

You can also see that it’s the same wall my wood pineapple is on!
