Here's another one of my Habitat For Humanity ReStore finds:

Lemonade Carafe

A lemonade carafe!

The picture doesn't do it justice, but it has little lemons etched onto it and is just the cutest thing ever!

American Flag

Is it too late to talk about Memorial Day festivities?! Probably, but I'm going to anyway!\

Grilling hot dogs, steak and hamburgers

I had to work Memorial Day weekend but we were able to have a small cookout on Sunday night. I made pasta salad and Watergate salad and cut up some fresh strawberries and blueberries.  Cooking in the new kitchen is absolutely amazing.

Steak on the grill

My husband grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.

My parents brought ribs and macaroni salad.  As you can imagine, there was a ton of food and we're still eating leftovers!

Grilled meat

It was so nice to celebrate the holiday and kick back in the house we worked so hard on!

These are pictures of the loft bedroom before we began renovations.

loft bedroom before renovations

Look at that floor!  Before we purchased the home in foreclosure, the bank went ahead and removed the carpet, revealing the beautiful (but stained!) tongue and groove flooring underneath.

The closet space and the closet rod being held up by wire!

loft bedroom before renovations There was/is minimal drywall in this room, which is awesome because I quickly found out that drywall is one of my least favorite things to do!  I can deal with everything except the sanding part!

Here's a pic of just some of the dust the drywall generated in that room!

There's so much more to show you of the finished product, but here's a fairly lengthy post about how we removed almost 30 years of dirt and put a coat of stain and polyurethane of the floors!

Summer 2016 bucket list

I know summer isn't quite here yet, but it might as well be! The weather is fantastic, watermelon are in season and it just feels like summer! Here are some things I want to do this summer...

1. S'mores
My obsession with s'mores is running deep. I can't wait to get my hands on that toasted goodness!

2. Bonfire
We have a huge pile of junk from our home remodel that is going to be fired up pretty soon. I can't wait for it to be gone.

3. Yard Sales
I never thought I would be one of those people who actively pursues yard sales, but I'm all about them now! As long as they don't interfere with my ReStore visits...

4. Amusement Park
There's this awesome amusement park somewhat close to our house and I can't wait to visit it!

5. Beach
There are so many lakes close to our house and I can't wait to visit them and the beach!

I'm sure there are a million other things I want to do this summer, but these are my top 5 right now.
